About Beta Pi Sigma Sorority Inc.
Our Mission
At Beta Pi Sigma Sorority Inc., is to stimulate civic, educational and cultural interests in the members by promoting tangible projects for the betterment of our communities where the Chapters exist.
Organization
Beta Pi Sigma Sorority Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3), non-partisan organization, open to all women regardless of race, creed or national origin. It is composed of both initiated and honorary members, mutually united under the seal of Beta Pi Sigma Sorority, Inc.
Organizationally, the Sorority has awarded $500,000 in national local scholarships since its inception.
Three National Scholarships
"Youth Takes Priority"
A national memorial award, given to a graduating high school senior, based on scholastic achievement and financial need.
A national award presented to a graduating high school senior, based on demonstrated leadership ability and financial need
A national award given to a sophomore student, enrolled full-time in a college/university, based on scholastic achievement and financial need.
Chapter Activities
Nationally, the Sorority enthusiastically promotes the Y.E.S.S (Youth, Education, Service and Scholarship) Program. In addition, Chapters hosts or sponsor ongoing programs including, but not limited to:
- YOBPS (Youth of Beta Pi Sigma)
- Book donations to local libraries & schools
- Health Fairs, Career Days
- Cancer/AIDS/Diabetes/Sickle Cell Walks
- Close Up Foundation
- Debutante Balls/Scholarship
- Luncheons
- Legal Fairs
- Tutoring
- Feeding the Homeless
- Aiding the Elderly
- Nursing Home Visitations
- Performing Arts Events
- Backpack/School Supply Donations
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Activities
- Black History Month Programs
